Madelin’s Romantic Barcelona Wedding Wearing Mark Ingram
Tell us your love story! How did you meet and how did you get to a proposal?
We’ve actually known each other since high school. Never in a million years did I think the boy I started dating at 19 would be the man I’d marry, but when it’s right, you can’t deny it.
After years of growing together, he proposed in 2023 on the Amalfi Coast, and it was the most beautiful, full-circle moment.
When you started planning your wedding, what did you envision? How close did the actual wedding get to that vision?
The moment I saw the castle in Barcelona, I knew it was my dream venue. Because the castle is a soft beige with gorgeous green trees surrounding it, I envisioned red florals and romantic red accents everywhere.
My wedding planning team understood the vision perfectly and exceeded every expectation. It was more magical than I ever imagined.
What were a few things that were important to you as a couple to include (or not include) in the wedding?
Guest experience was our number-one priority. Our friends and family were traveling all the way from Miami to Barcelona, so great food and amazing music were non-negotiables. We wanted everyone to feel celebrated, comfortable, and immersed in the moment.
How did you decide on the location?
Ten years ago, we visited Barcelona together for the first time and instantly fell in love with the city. We kept returning over the years, and we always knew that if we ever got engaged, Barcelona would be the place we wanted to get married. It felt like home to us in a very special way.
Let's talk about dress! Give us all the deets!
I went wedding dress shopping with my mom, my sister, and my mother-in-law. I always knew I wanted something form-fitting and timeless, but I was torn between lace and a more minimal fabric.
Then I tried on the Mark Ingram gown, and it brought me to tears. It was the perfect balance of modern and classic. Once I put it on, I couldn’t picture myself in anything else.
How did your family, friends, etc., play into your wedding planning and wedding day?
Our family and friends mean the world to us. We had “table captains” at each table, each one handed a bottle of Clase Azul to get the party started—and it was a hit!
We wanted our guests to feel included, appreciated, and truly spoiled: heel stoppers for the ladies, sandals for the after-party, late-night bites… anything we could do to elevate their experience, we did. They’re our most loved people.
What's one specific memory you have from your wedding day that you don't think you'll ever forget?
The first look with my dad is something I’ll carry with me forever. And my husband’s vows, he brought the entire ceremony to tears. Those moments are etched in my heart.
How did you decide on your hair and makeup look?
Since my dress was strapless, I knew I wanted my hair down. Fun fact: that is my natural long hair and hair color, no dye! We only added extensions for volume, not length. I spent years growing it out so I could wear it down on this day.
For makeup, I wanted something natural, glowing, and timeless.
Was there one vendor you used that you wish everyone knew about?
Yes, our videographer, Pixan Stories. He’s based in Barcelona but travels everywhere. He went above and beyond and captured our day with so much heart. We’re forever grateful.
Where are you going on your honeymoon and what are you most excited about?
Our honeymoon is set for September 2026! We’re traveling to South Africa, and we couldn’t be more excited. It will be the adventure of a lifetime and the perfect way to celebrate our new chapter.
