Tell us your love story! How did you meet and how did you get to a proposal?

We met shortly after I moved to Miami to be closer to my sister. I had absolutely no intention of staying in Miami long-term, but a mutual friend introduced us, and everything changed. About a month into dating, Cobi invited me to his family’s vacation home in North Carolina, and that place quickly became such a special part of our story.

Not long after, I moved back to Los Angeles to finish my MBA, so we did long distance for a while before I eventually made my way back to Miami. And, as they say, the rest is history.

Five years later, we had returned to North Carolina every summer and created so many memories there together. So when we went back in June of last year, I never imagined he would propose. We went on a beautiful hike overlooking the Blue Ridge Mountains, and completely unexpectedly, he got down on one knee. It was breathtaking, intimate, and such a perfect reflection of our story. I was completely surprised.

When you started planning your wedding, what did you envision? How close did the actual wedding get to that vision?

I always knew I wanted to get married in Colombia, surrounded by as much family as possible. Cobi had always envisioned a big wedding, and I wanted something that felt deeply connected to my roots and our love for Colombia.

At one point, I actually asked him if the wedding was what he had envisioned, and he said it was even better than he imagined. Having all of our family together in a place we love so much, while introducing Colombia to friends and family who had never been, made it incredibly meaningful.

It was big, beautiful, magical, and truly felt like the fairy-garden wedding I had always imagined.

What were a few things that were important to you as a couple to include (or not include) in the wedding?

Our biggest priority was having our families together and creating a celebration that felt completely like us. We wanted to be outside in a beautiful garden, surrounded by nature, and have everyone dancing and celebrating all night.

We also wanted to share Colombian culture with our guests while honoring Cobi’s Jewish heritage. The result was the perfect mix of a big, joyful Latin-Jewish wedding — full of family, music, dancing, culture, and so much love.

How did you decide on the location?

A few years ago, I started a passion project called Casa Coya, a retreat center on my family’s farm in Colombia created to bring people together to explore, learn, connect, and experience the beauty of the land.

Over the past three years, Cobi and I have traveled to Colombia almost every other month and developed such a deep connection to the land while reconnecting with my roots. Colombia has become such a meaningful part of our relationship and our life together, so getting married there felt like a no-brainer.

We wanted to share a place that means so much to us with the people we love most.

I had always envisioned a wedding dress that was romantic, lacy, dramatic, and had a touch of traditional Spanish influence. The moment I tried on the Inés Di Santo Valence dress, I knew it was the one.

It felt like everything I had imagined — feminine, timeless, dramatic, and completely me. Adding the overskirt made it feel even more magical for the garden setting.

How did your family, friends, etc. play into your wedding planning and wedding day?

Family was at the heart of everything. My family is from Colombia and El Salvador, and I wanted the wedding to be a way to bring everyone together while also showing Cobi’s family and our friends how incredibly special Colombia is to me.

Cobi and I planned the wedding with so much love and intention. We wanted every detail to feel meaningful and to create an experience that our guests would truly remember.

Seeing that energy come to life on the wedding day was one of the most rewarding parts. People cried, laughed, danced, connected, and celebrated together. It felt like all of the love and intention we had poured into the day came full circle, and it was truly magical.

What’s one specific memory you have from your wedding day that you don’t think you’ll ever forget?

One of the moments I’ll never forget is looking around during the reception and seeing everyone we love — our families and friends from different parts of our lives and different countries — all together, dancing and celebrating.

It was surreal to see so many people who had never been to Colombia experiencing a place that means so much to me. For a moment, I just stopped and took it all in. After all the planning and anticipation, there we were, surrounded by everyone we love, celebrating together. I’ll never forget that feeling.

How did you decide on your hair and makeup look?

I wanted everything to feel timeless and romantic while still feeling like myself. Since my dress was dramatic and had so much beautiful detail, I wanted my beauty look to complement it rather than compete with it.

I chose soft, glowing makeup with a natural, polished feel and wore my hair up to keep the look elegant and effortless. I wanted to look back at our wedding photos years from now and still feel like myself — just the most elevated version.

Was there one vendor you used that you wish everyone knew about?

Our wedding planners, Lica Creativa, were such an important part of bringing the vision to life. They understood what we wanted from the beginning and helped us create something that felt incredibly personal while managing all of the details that go into a destination wedding.

What I appreciated most was how much care they put into making the day feel seamless for us. We were able to truly be present and enjoy our wedding because we knew everything was being taken care of.

Where did you go on your honeymoon and what was the best part?

We did a little mini-moon in the Islas Barú, just off the coast of Cartagena, right after the wedding. After months of planning and such a big celebration, it was exactly what we needed — a few quiet days by the water to slow down, soak it all in, and enjoy being newlyweds.

Our real honeymoon is still to come! In December, we’re heading to Southeast Asia, where we’ll be traveling through Singapore, Vietnam, and Thailand. We’re so excited to have another adventure to look forward to and experience somewhere completely new together.
