If you haven’t realized, at Chic Parisien we HEART Jenny Packham Bridal! We adore her bridal collections… The details, the silhouettes, the Hollywood glamour, the styling, it’s all so fashion forward and stunning! So in light of our upcoming June 14 - June 15 Jenny Packham Bridal Trunk Show, we were fortunate enough that she answered some questions we asked her! Here is what she had to say:
What is the inspiration for Jenny Packham 2013 Bridal Collection? The collection is inspired by the leading ladies of the golden ages of cinema. It is romantic and feminine and fuses the glamour of old Hollywood icons, Vivien Leigh and Bette Davis, with the vintage style of 1930’s Paris. For the Show, I was inspired by the idea of a 1930’s English country garden wedding with Cecil Beaton taking the photographs. I was inspired by the idea of debutantes of that era. The collection reflects this aristocratic English style with a fresh, floral and contemporary detail.
What is your favorite piece from this collection? I love Azalea. It’s a beautifully soft piece but the volume of the skirt and the addition of the tulle draping on the top lends a real luxuriousness and elegance to the look.
What fabrics have you used for this collection? For 2013 I’ve used a lot of silk chiffon. Unlike previous seasons, I haven’t used so much satin. It’s a lighter aesthetic for 2013- tulles, chiffons and delicate tone-on-tone beading define the collection.
You dress many A-list stars on the red carpet. Is there a connection between the red carpet and bridal wear? I think for many brides their wedding day is their real life red carpet moment! Increasingly Brides want something beautiful and fashion forward and they look to celebrities on the red carpet for inspiration. I often get inspiration from my evening wear creations and adapt them for the bridal market but it’s also important to remember that bridal styles have to have longevity – they can’t be too trend led.
What new trends do you see emerging in Bridal fashion 2013? More Brides are looking for gowns with sleeves which wasn’t the case a few years ago. We’ve seen a demand for high necklines and an overall more demure and sophisticated look.

3 Most Important Styling Tips for Brides-To-Be by Debra Moreland of PARIS Accessories
Amazing artist, stylist and master designer, Debra Moreland of PARIS Accessories is coming to Miami this weekend… We’re obsessed with her collection and her amazing ability to style brides! So in light of her personal appearance, we asked her what are the 3 key tips a bride-to-be must know when getting styled for the big day. Here's what the fabulous Debra said:
- Be sure to bring along any accessories that you’re planning to wear that you already have (i.e. grandmothers pearls, etc.)
- Be open to being styled, it’s not a shopping trip. Live like a celebrity and have fun.
- Bring the person whose opinions are most helpful, too many ideas and personalities make it difficult to get these important decisions made.
She added “I completely style each bride with multiple pieces... Earrings, bracelets, necklaces hair pieces, belts, and veils, in whatever order needed.” We can’t wait to see her at work! Wet, gray and soggy perfectly describes Miami in the last few days. In South Florida, it has really been raining a lot lately... Which got us thinking, what happens when it rains on your wedding day!?!?! The makings of our bridal photo shoot!
How are you friends? We hope you had a lovely weekend! We definitely had an eventful week, not only did we have an amazing Marchesa Trunk Show, but we also had our seasonal photo shoot. We do these photo shoots to showcase some of the key gowns, accessories and trends of the season! As you can imagine, prepping for these shoots is intense… We coordinate with the photographer, models, make up artist, hair stylist, florist, props, location etc This is almost like prepping for a wedding, but without the guests nor the honeymoon! Ha! But like most weddings, we had a blast and thought it would be fun to show you some of the behind the scene outtakes of our shoot! Stay tuned and look for the official shots in upcoming weeks! We can’t wait!
And, of course, just like a wedding, it takes a full village for this gorgeousness to come to life... Special thanks to the following: the photographer was the incomparable Ray Santana. Molly Sims Glows in Marchesa!
Once in a while, we come across weddings that are truly the makings of a little girl’s dream… And this week, when we saw supermodel Molly Sims’ gorgeous, rustic, elegant wedding we realized it was exactly what a fairy tale wedding should be! We had seen a couple of photos of the gorgeous bride over a year ago in People magazine, but when her photographer, Gia Canali, published a full gallery of this wedding, we were able to really admire Molly’s exquisite taste.
The bride wore a stunning Marchesa gown for this outdoor, chic wedding. Her hair was up with a sparkly, pretty hairpiece securing the flowy veil. The bridesmaids are gorgeous in tan, brown and black mismatched dresses. And the setting is just amazingly delightful! Real Wedding: Gorgeous Merida Wedding!
Timeless elegance are two of our favorite words when describing a wedding! And my gosh, Martha and Armando knocked it out of the park, truly achieving this description of their gorgeous wedding. Taking place in Merida, Mexico, this wedding was exactly what she dreamed of! An intimate affair with friends and family that captured her perfectly crafted style: elegant, traditional and simple. The event was filled with love, laughter and fun! The gorgeous bride said her favorite part was all the smiles of her loved ones throughout the day and night. Her dress and veil are a gorgeous pairing from Monique Lhuillier. She says she knew it was THE dress when she tried it on and was so moved, she couldn’t stop crying! Congrats Martha and Armando… we wish you an eternity of fun, health and love!
