What To Know Before An Appointment At Chic Parisien
Here at Chic Parisien, a luxury bridal boutique in Miami, we hear a lot of the same questions over and over — and that makes perfect sense! Wedding dress shopping is a once in a lifetime experience, totally unlike the purchase of any other dress in your life. Not only is the dress ripe with sentimental importance, but the process of buying it is completely different too. As if it wasn’t stressful enough! That said, we believe wedding dress shopping shouldn’t be stressful. This should be an enjoyable, luxury experience from start to finish alongside the help of our talented and experienced bridal stylists.
Today, we thought we’d answer a few of the most frequently asked questions about a bridal shopping appointment at Chic Parisien. For more detailed FAQs visit our dedicated page.
How much do you charge for friday, saturday & after hours appointments?
$100 for friday and saturday appointments and $150, applied to the purchase of any gown.
What if i would rather not pay for an appointment?
No problem at all, please schedule an appointment during regular store hours from Monday - Thursday and there is no charge.
Why do you charge for appointments?
Due to high demand, especially during limited time only trunk show weekends, we charge to ensure every bride has a personalized and private experience.
Do you charge a cancellation fee?
There is a $95 non-refundable cancellation fee for no-shows and appointment canceled within 24 hours on all appointments.
What does it mean to work with a private bridal stylist?
We pair each bride with a stylist for the entirety of her wedding dress shopping experience. Your stylist will first listen to what you like, where your wedding is taking place, whatyour budget is, and you can share any inspiration photos and screenshots you may have collected (we encourage this!). Then, your stylist will head into our stock room of luxury bridal gowns and select and edit of gowns for you to try on. Our gowns are not out on display, so communicating with your stylist is super important and ensures that they have the right sense of what you’re envisioning. That said, you’ll be working it out together as you go. Your bridal stylist will listen to what you like and don’t like about each gown and tailor the options for you from there — until you land on your perfect wedding dress!
Then what happens?
You say yes to the dress! Then, your stylist will talk you through next steps including taking your measurements, nailing down any customizations, order lead times, etc.

Tell us your love story! How did you meet and how did you get to a proposal?
Hunter and I met when we were juniors at the University of Alabama. Mutual friends introduced us during Tuesday-night bingo at Bear Trap, our favorite campus bar, and there was an immediate connection. We graduated together in 2019 and eventually settled in the West Palm Beach area. We really grew into adulthood together, and our friendship has always been the foundation of our relationship.
After nearly seven years together, Hunter surprised me with a whirlwind three-day trip to Paris. We had designed my engagement ring together and agreed on a weekend, but the destination was a complete surprise. He even let me believe we were going to New York before revealing our connecting flight to Paris. After dinner, we walked along the Seine to a spot with a view of the Eiffel Tower, where he had arranged for a photographer to be waiting. He proposed there and we spent the rest of the weekend celebrating in my favorite city.
When you started planning your wedding, what did you envision? How close did the actual wedding get to that vision?
As a wedding planner, I approached our wedding with a very specific perspective. I wanted it to feel elevated and intentional, but never like a traditional ballroom wedding. The vision was a balance of modern art and soft garden romance—clean architectural elements balanced with organic florals, layered tabletop details, and an open-air celebration.
The finished wedding certainly felt true to that original vision. The Norton Museum of Art gave us the modern foundation, while Ellie’s Garden brought in the softness and romance. Seeing every detail come together was incredibly meaningful, especially because each choice had been made with such purpose. I truly love designing and planning weddings and planning mine was just all the more special.
What were a few things that were important to you as a couple to include—or not include—in the wedding?
It was important that the wedding feel genuinely reflective of us rather than being guided by tradition for tradition’s sake. We wanted someone who truly knew our relationship to marry us, so we asked our college friend Jared—who was there the night we met—to officiate.
We also wanted our guests to experience the museum itself, so the celebration began with a walk through the galleries before everyone entered the garden. Dancing was another priority; we wanted a full, high-energy dance floor all night. On the design side, every detail needed to have a reason behind it. One of my favorite examples was our escort display: I found a photograph of every guest or couple and transformed each one into an oil-painting-style portrait, turning our guests into the art.
How did you decide on the location?
Choosing a venue was surprisingly challenging because, as a planner, I work at so many beautiful places and have relationships throughout the Palm Beach market. The Norton Museum ultimately felt distinctly right for us. It offered the nontraditional setting we wanted and naturally combined an intriguing modern, clean design with the garden romance I envisioned.
I had also worked with the museum’s exclusive catering team, Constellation Culinary, for other client events and genuinely loved collaborating with them. The venue gave our guests an experience from the moment they arrived: they could move through the galleries before entering the garden, and even during the open-air reception, the art remained part of the backdrop with floor-to-ceiling windows showcasing an indoor gallery set behind the DJ.

My gown was by Beau by KYHA and, of course, came from Chic Parisien.
I wore a tulle ballgown with a drop waist. I knew I wanted to make a statement with my dress, but also feel timeless. As a ballet dancer growing up, tulle was naturally so attractive to me, and with every ballgown that Kendall pulled for me at Chic Parisien, I kept coming back to that soft, romantic, full-skirted feeling. At the same time, I was very intentional about not wanting anything that felt overly “princess-y” or overly youthful—I still wanted it to feel elevated and refined.
This dress struck that balance perfectly. It had that beautiful, dramatic ballgown silhouette I was looking for, but still felt modern and sophisticated. I was also able to customize the neckline with the alterations team, which made it feel even more special and uniquely mine. Kendall knew this dress was right for me before I did! It was the first dress she put me in and, despite me not being initially sure of it, she never removed it from the room. She read exactly what I wanted and was so clear in what was right for me when I was too clouded to see it. She put me back in it at the end of the appointment and I'm so glad I had her to guide me. I was ultimately stuck between my dress and Malibu, also by Khya. Kendall suggested we modify the Beau to have the softer neckline of the Malibu, which was the perfect combination of the gowns.
Once I found the dress, I was so in love with it that I decided to stay in it all night long. Most of my brides have two or three wedding night looks, and I absolutely love that—I always assumed I would do the same because I adore bridal fashion. But I truly couldn’t imagine not soaking in every single moment in that dress. I didn’t even want to change for the after party, though I did have to admit I couldn’t exactly show up to a cocktail bar in a full ballgown!
How did your family and friends play into your wedding planning and wedding day?
Our family and friends were woven into the day in meaningful ways. Jared, one of our closest friends from college and someone who has had a front-row seat to our relationship from the beginning, officiated the ceremony. Having him speak about our relationship made that moment feel especially personal.
My two maids of honor each gave a toast, as did one of Hunter’s best men. My father welcomed everyone and my mother added a few words as well. After being together for more than eight years by the time we married, so many of the people present had watched us grow up together. Celebrating with them felt like honoring not only our wedding day, but the entire journey that brought us there.
What’s one specific memory from your wedding day that you don’t think you’ll ever forget?
The entire day is still so vivid in my head, but the moment that stands out most is seeing Hunter for the first time and reading our private vows. We chose to be “traditional” and spend the night before the wedding apart—me with my two maids of honor at the hotel and him at our home—and by the morning we were both so over the separation and were ready to be together. We were texting all morning, counting down the minutes until we’d see each other. When we finally saw each other, it was such a grounding moment; all of that anticipation and nervous energy just melted away, and it felt like we could finally breathe and start the day together.
Later in the evening, another memory that I know will stay with me forever is looking out at the dance floor. We absolutely love to dance, and while we’re usually right in the center of it all, we found ourselves stepping to the outer edge at times just to take it in—watching all of our favorite people together, celebrating and dancing in a space we had so carefully curated. Seeing everyone we love enjoying the night so fully was incredibly special.
How did you decide on your hair and makeup look?
I worked with Brianna Michele Artistry and wanted the finished look to feel polished, timeless, and still recognizably me. I always wear my hair down and curled and it’s when I feel most like myself. When I worked with Brianna Michele, she had such an accurate vision of a bridal version of my everyday look, so that’s exactly what we did. I wore my hair down in soft, natural curls—polished and intentional, but still effortless. We were very conscious of balancing the ballgown silhouette so it didn’t feel too youthful, and Bri achieved a beautiful, more mature take on my signature curls that felt elevated and timeless.
For makeup, I wanted something natural and glowy. Bri is incredible at enhancing your natural features with a soft glam approach, and that’s exactly what we leaned into. The result felt like the best, most bridal version of myself—fresh, luminous, and still very true to my everyday style.
Was there one vendor you used that you wish everyone knew about?
I truly can’t choose just one—my entire vendor team was exceptional. From Ellie’s Garden, Brianna Michele Artistry, Paulaje Specialties, Constellation Culinary, Isi. Marketing Co., and the remainder of our creative team, every single one played such a meaningful role. It was such a joy to work so closely with vendors I regularly recommend to my brides, and to experience firsthand just how seamlessly and beautifully they all collaborate. As a general statement though, I truly believe every bride needs a bridal valet! Not only did mine make sure every detail with my gown was perfect, he even put out a few fires like bringing me a change of shoes and sewing my maid of honor back into her gown when her zipper broke!
Where did you go on your honeymoon, and what was the best part?
We went to Croatia! We spent our honeymoon exploring historic old towns along the coast, wandering cobblestone streets and taking in the Adriatic views. We balanced that with time at beach clubs and slow, poolside afternoons, and some of the best meals we’ve ever had. More than anything, it was a chance to fully unwind together in a beautiful place and lean into what we love most as a couple—traveling, discovering new places, and making memories together.

Tell us your love story! How did you meet and how did you get to a proposal?
We met in 2016 at the University of Miami and spent the first six years as flirty friends before slowly growing closer. Four years ago, that friendship naturally turned into a relationship. Because Davon plays basketball — we’ve lived all over the US, and even in Japan and Europe. That made us incredibly close, having to be each other’s worlds when you’re so far away from everyone you know in an unknown place.
Despite having very different personalities, our lives have always mirrored each other. We’ve gone through so many of the same things at the same time, and our values and souls are incredibly aligned. We both knew early on that we would never feel this way with anyone else. We’re truly best friends and soulmates.
When you started planning your wedding, what did you envision? How close did the actual wedding get to that vision?
We originally planned to get married in Long Island, New York — a central location for Davon’s family in New Jersey and mine in Toronto, New York, and Europe. When our venue unexpectedly filed for bankruptcy, we had less than eight months to pivot.
I had always secretly dreamed of getting married in Europe, so when the opportunity opened up, we decided to take the leap. Our wedding ended up being in the South of France — a place neither of us had ever been — and it was truly a dream come true.
I always imagined getting married on a private estate, and being able to have our families stay with us in the chateau all weekend was the cherry on top. The aesthetic was exactly what my mom and I had talked about since I was a little girl: classic, timeless, romantic. All white flowers cascading everywhere, chandeliers, beautiful silverware, and outdoors, and the breathtaking view of Monaco made it unforgettable.
What were a few things that were important to you as a couple to include (or not include) in the wedding?
It was incredibly important to both of us that every guest felt valued and appreciated for traveling to celebrate with us. My favorite detail was the handwritten cards we wrote for every single guest — even plus ones we had never met — to express our gratitude and excitement.
We also wanted our families, both blood and chosen, to be part of the ceremony. We included a ring blessing where our wedding bands were passed through the first row so our family could pray over them. Our officiant asked for quiet prayers, but the grandparents prayed out loud, and soon everyone followed. Hearing their words was so moving.
We incorporated meaningful mementos as well. My bouquet had a locket with photos of my grandmother and uncle, and I gifted Davon and his dad cufflinks with pictures of his grandparents on their wedding day — they were married for over sixty years.
Music was another huge priority for me, since I’ve worked in the industry for eight years and it’s a big part of our relationship. We handpicked every song for each moment — the ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and the after-party — to create a distinct vibe throughout the weekend. Our goal was simply for everyone to have an unforgettable experience.
How did you decide on the location?
Once our original venue filed for bankruptcy, we shifted our search to Europe. I emailed over fifty venues and eventually narrowed it down to two in the South of France. The venue we chose had one weekend left in June — and it happened to be our anniversary. It felt like a sign.
Beyond that, it’s genuinely one of the most beautiful places in the world. It felt straight out of a movie.

My dresses! I knew I wanted to start with my ceremony gown and build the other looks around it so everything felt cohesive. I visited several boutiques in Miami and New York, but when I met Kati, we instantly clicked.
By the time I arrived at Chic, I knew I wanted to try Leah Da Gloria and had a clear vision: a ball gown with a drop waist. The Alexandra gown was in another city for a trunk show, so they shipped it in — and the moment I tried it on, I knew it was my dress.
A few months later, we returned to find my welcome party look and second dress. Kati understood my vibe perfectly and chose the most beautiful options. We ended up tailoring the welcome party gown into a midi, and I’m obsessed with it — I can’t wait to wear it again.
My goal was for my waist to be snatched to the gods, and thanks to Mari, the sweetest and most meticulous seamstress, we achieved exactly that.
How did your family and friends play into your wedding planning and wedding day?
My mom and I did most of the planning together — something we’ve dreamed about since I was little. She’s always been my best friend and biggest supporter, and sharing this experience with her was so special.
My stepdad and Davon helped with smaller parts, but my mom and I kept joking that we were planning the best surprise party for them.
She also organized one of my favorite moments: she, my mother‑in‑law, my granny‑in‑law, and my best friends wrote me letters, which my mom turned into a book I read the night before the wedding. I sobbed, but it’s a keepsake I’ll treasure forever.
One specific memory you’ll never forget…
Walking down the aisle and seeing all our family and friends from around the world — Hong Kong, Germany, Canada, the States, the UK, and more — gathered to celebrate us was overwhelming in the best way.
My second favorite moment was looking up at Davon as I walked toward him. He had insisted for months that he wouldn’t cry — he’s not usually emotional — but he was absolutely bawling. It was the sweetest reminder of how deep our love is.
How did you decide on your hair and makeup look?
I wanted to look elevated but still like myself. I found my makeup artist on TikTok after seeing a bridal look where the bride’s freckles were still visible — something I loved and wanted for myself.
My hair inspiration came from Pinterest. My favorite look was for the welcome party: a half‑up, half‑down pony that was absolute perfection.
Was there one vendor you wish everyone knew about?
KEJ Films — truly my favorite people ever. We flew our videographers in from Denver, and they are unbelievably talented. Our highlight film looks like a major motion picture.
Beyond their talent, they’re the sweetest couple. Elaine felt like family the morning of the wedding, and Davon said the same about Kaleb later in the day. We adore them and even grabbed dinner with them when we were in Denver. They’ll be in our lives forever.
Where did you go on your honeymoon and what was the best part?
We went to Capri, Positano, and Paris. Capri was our favorite — it was our first time, and it was breathtaking. We relaxed, ate endless pasta, and relived every moment of the wedding. It was a dream.

Tell us your love story! How did you meet and how did you get to a proposal?
We actually started out as coworkers turned real friends at the Miami Heat in the group sales department. The hours were long, so our little crew would grab drinks after work to unwind, and somewhere in there, "coworkers" turned into "best friends." We'd hang out on weekends, talk about absolutely nothing and everything, and just genuinely enjoy each other's company. After COVID, we ended up working together again at my new job, and one shared burger later, something shifted. Suddenly the friend zone was gone and all I could think about was how much I wanted to kiss him and hug him. He was also amazing with my Great Dane, Barkley, and the two of them loved each other right back. He'd always been the friend who showed up for me, and now he gets to show up as my husband. Honestly, it was probably obvious to everyone around us long before it was obvious to me! We dated for four-plus years and just celebrated one month of marriage, and I love every chapter of our story.
When you started planning your wedding, what did you envision? How close did the actual wedding get to that vision?
Honestly, our wedding ended up somewhere we never even let ourselves dream. It felt like the kind of wedding that only happens for influencers or celebrities! We knew from the start we wanted something small: good food, good drinks, beautiful decor, and our favorite people all dressed up. But if you'd told us early on back when we were just starting to talk about engagement and weddings that we'd end up getting married in Greece, we simply wouldn't have believed you.
What were a few things that were important to you as a couple to include (or not include) in the wedding?
We wanted it to feel deeply romantic a day where we got real, quality time with the people we love, while still feeling completely immersed in the fact that it was our day. We knew it would fly by in an instant, so soaking up time together was non-negotiable.
How did you decide on the location?
It all started when I found our planner on Instagram. We hopped on a Zoom call with her, and she happened to be in Greece at the time, a place my mom always described as the most romantic destination in the world. We'd always pictured something small and intimate (we'd even floated the idea of eloping), so Greece felt like it could never disappoint. We'd never even visited before we went in on full trust in our planning team, knowing the views would be stunning and the food would be fresh and delicious. And we were so right.

I found it the very first time I tried on dresses as a bride. I think it was the third or fourth one. I smiled ear to ear, teared up, and just knew it was the one. I felt so bridal, and I remember thinking, "my husband is going to be obsessed." I loved where it sat on my waist and the incredibly detailed lace. I still tried on more (because every bride says you should!), but I never stopped thinking about that first dress. In the end, it was exactly the one I'd always pictured, and I never looked back. I loved her so much.
How did your family, friends, etc. play into your wedding planning and wedding day?
One of our closest friends actually worked with us at the Heat, and the three of us were inseparable long before my husband and I ever started dating. He watched our whole story unfold friends to something more to engaged so it felt only right to have him be part of our day. He officiated our wedding, and having someone who truly knew our journey say those words made everything feel so genuine and calmed all our nerves. Another close friend read a Bible verse and prayed over us during the ceremony. My nephew and nieces were our ring bearer and flower girls, and we kept our bridal party small and intentional just long-term friends and family standing beside us and of course my dad walking me down the isle.
What's one specific memory you have from your wedding day that you don't think you'll ever forget?
We're still in awe of this one days later, we couldn't stop talking about it. We surprised all our guests with fireworks, timed perfectly as we cut the cake. Everyone was facing us, and right as we cut in boom, fireworks lit up the sky, with "All That Really Matters" by Illenium and Teddy Swims playing at the exact same moment. Even though we'd planned it, living in that moment felt completely surreal such a total pinch-me moment. We still rewatch that video all the time.
How did you decide on your hair and makeup look?
I'll be honest I fully trusted my hair and makeup team. I did my trial two days before the wedding and told them I wanted to look like myself, just elevated. There were no notes on my makeup and she didn't have me in the chair for two hours. My dress was strapless, and anyone who knows me knows I love my hair up, so I asked for a bun. My stylist nailed it on the first try and even designed it so I could easily drop it into a sleek ponytail for the reception party later.
Was there one vendor you used that you wish everyone knew about?
Our planner, Maria Sila of Tie the Knot, made everything painless from tracking our budget to bringing our vision to life. She exceeded anything my Pinterest board could have dreamed up. I wouldn't change a single detail, and I'm still in disbelief looking back at the pictures that this was actually our day.
Where did you go on your honeymoon and what was the best part?
Since our wedding was in Santorini, we stayed two extra nights there to fully unwind, then island-hopped to Paros and Mykonos. We spent our days by the water, eating incredible food, and just truly being together no schedules, no responsibilities, just each other. It was a beautiful reminder of everything that makes us work as husband and wife: knowing when to relax and when to adventure, canceling reservations just to stay in and order room service, and even the ferry rides between islands (which everyone warned us would be a hassle) ended up being one of our favorite parts. Being somewhere so romantic for our first trip as a married couple we honestly couldn't have asked for anything more.
We know not everyone could go so blindly in planning a wedding. We did no tastings, booked our venue without ever seeing it and did everything really by stalking places and peoples social media, but if you asked me we'd do it all over we would. The element of being amazed by everything for the first time in the moment made it even better.

We wanted our wedding to feel timeless, elegant, and full of joy. More than anything, we wanted it to feel like us—a beautiful celebration where everyone was genuinely having fun. Somehow, it turned out even better than we imagined. Every detail came together perfectly, and seeing all of our family and friends together made it feel even more special.
What were a few things that were important to you as a couple to include (or not include) in the wedding?
Family was at the center of everything. We wanted everyone to feel included and have the best time. We also wanted to incorporate little touches that reflected us, like our nautical theme and personalized details throughout the day. We tried not to get caught up in trends and instead focused on creating a celebration that felt authentic to who we are.
How did you decide on the location?
Getting married at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Key Biscayne was an easy decision because our faith is incredibly important to us. For the reception, Coral Gables Country Club had the timeless elegance we were looking for. It was classic, romantic, and the perfect setting to celebrate with all of our favorite people.

I wanted something timeless that I would love just as much 30 years from now as I did on my wedding day. I fell in love with a classic silhouette that felt elegant, romantic, and completely me. The moment I put it on, I knew it was the one.
How did your family, friends, etc. play into your wedding planning and wedding day?
We were so lucky to be surrounded by the most supportive family and friends. They were there every step of the way—from helping us make decisions to celebrating every milestone leading up to the wedding. On the wedding day itself, we felt so loved, and having everyone together in one room is something we'll always treasure.
What's one specific memory you have from your wedding day that you don't think you'll ever forget?
Walking into our reception and seeing every single person we love in one room celebrating with us is a feeling I'll never forget. Looking around the dance floor that night and seeing everyone laughing, dancing, and making memories together made all the planning worth it.
How did you decide on your hair and makeup look?
I wanted to look like the best version of myself. I chose a soft, timeless glam with makeup that enhanced my natural features and hair that felt elegant without being overdone. I wanted to feel confident but still completely like me.
Was there one vendor you used that you wish everyone knew about?
Honestly, we were incredibly fortunate with our vendor team. Everyone truly exceeded our expectations, but if I had to choose one, I'd say our planner. She made the entire process feel stress-free and allowed us to be fully present on our wedding day, which is something we'll always be grateful for.
Where did you go on your honeymoon and what was the best part?
We honeymooned in Australia and Fiji, and it was the trip of a lifetime. We explored Sydney before heading to Fiji, where we stayed at Six Senses. The best part was simply slowing down after all the excitement of the wedding and soaking in those first days of marriage together in such a beautiful place. It was the perfect mix of adventure, relaxation, and unforgettable memories.

Tell us your love story! How did you meet and how did you get to a proposal?
My husband and I met in college at FIU in Miami back in 2016. We were close friends for many years before we started dating. During COVID, we grew even closer, and at the end of 2020 he finally asked me to be his girlfriend. Over the next five years, we experienced so many of life’s biggest moments together, growing both individually and as a couple. On April 25, 2025, he proposed in Santorini, Greece. What made it even more special was that he secretly flew out my entire family and my two best friends behind my back to surprise me. It was truly everything I could have ever dreamed of and more.
When you started planning your wedding, what did you envision? How close did the actual wedding get to that vision?
I started planning almost immediately after getting engaged in May 2025. I always knew I wanted a destination wedding, and I always knew I wanted it to be in Puerto Rico. We ultimately got married in the same cathedral where my husband’s parents celebrated their 25th wedding vow renewal, and I absolutely love sentimental details that carry meaning. When designing the wedding, I wanted to embrace both sides of Puerto Rico. I wanted the tropical beauty of the island reflected throughout the décor and florals, while also honoring the timeless elegance and history of Old San Juan and the cathedral itself. Looking back, every vendor absolutely brought that vision to life. The final result exceeded anything I could have imagined.
What were a few things that were important to you as a couple to include (or not include) in the wedding?
One of the most important things for us was finding meaningful ways to honor the loved ones who could not be there with us. Both of us have grandparents who have passed away, and it was important that they still felt present on our wedding day.
Inside the cathedral, we included a memorial display dedicated to those who were no longer with us physically but remained with us in spirit. We also placed a few purple orchids alongside the memorial in honor of my husband's grandmother, as they were her favorite flower. It was a simple but meaningful way to remember her and carry her presence with us on such a special day.
Those small touches meant so much to us and allowed us to honor the people who helped shape our lives and relationship.
How did you decide on the location?
Puerto Rico felt like the perfect choice from the beginning. It is incredibly meaningful to my husband's family, and because his parents celebrated their 25th wedding vow renewal in the same cathedral, it felt like we were continuing a beautiful family story.
As soon as we visited Old San Juan, we knew it was exactly where we wanted to get married. The history, architecture, culture, and charm of the city created the perfect backdrop for the wedding we envisioned.

I always knew exactly what I wanted: a full lace gown. I wasn't interested in pearls, beading, or heavy embellishments, which actually made finding the dress a little more challenging. I loved the look of a corset bodice, an A-line silhouette, and a drop waist.
When I walked into Chic Parisien and explained my vision to Irina, she immediately pulled the perfect dress. It was one of those rare moments where everything just clicked. The process was surprisingly easy, and I knew almost instantly that it was the one.
How did your family and friends play into your wedding planning and wedding day?
Planning a wedding while completing my intern year of internal medicine medical residency was definitely not easy. There were so many moments when I felt like I didn't have enough time to dedicate to planning, but my family and friends stepped in every chance they could.
They constantly made me feel loved, supported, and celebrated throughout my entire bridal era. Whether it was helping with wedding tasks, checking in on me during stressful moments, or simply sharing in my excitement, they made the entire experience so much more special than I could have ever imagined.
What's one specific memory from your wedding day that you'll never forget?
Without question, seeing my dad cry during our first look.
My dad is not a particularly sentimental person, and I honestly don't think I had ever seen him cry before. The moment he saw me in my wedding dress, he immediately became emotional. It completely caught me off guard and is a memory I know I will carry with me forever.
How did you decide on your hair and makeup look?
For makeup, I always knew I wanted a soft matte finish. I originally planned on wearing my hair half-up and half-down, but as the wedding got closer, I started thinking more realistically about Puerto Rico's weather and wanted to be comfortable throughout the entire day.
I ultimately chose a sleek, slicked-back bun, which ended up being one of the best decisions I made. Because the hairstyle was so clean and timeless, I decided to make my eyes the focal point of my makeup and went with a more dramatic eye look. I felt like it perfectly balanced the simplicity and elegance of everything else.
Was there one vendor you used that you wish everyone knew about?
One thing I didn't fully appreciate until the wedding day was how much time you spend with your photographer, videographer, and content creator. They are truly with you from the moment you start getting ready until the very end of the night.
My team made me feel comfortable, calm, and cared for throughout the entire day. Despite the Puerto Rico heat, they were constantly checking on me, bringing me snacks, making sure I stayed hydrated, and even stopping for piraguas so I could cool down between photos.
I also have to mention my bridal assistant, Bianca. She was an absolute lifesaver. She carried fans, lipstick, lip gloss, safety pins, and essentially every emergency item imaginable. Anytime I needed something, she somehow already had it ready. Having her there allowed me to fully enjoy the day without worrying about any of the little details.
Where did you go on your honeymoon and what was the best part?
Because of my medical residency schedule, we weren't able to take our big honeymoon immediately after the wedding. Instead, we spent a week enjoying a mini-moon in Puerto Rico, which ended up being exactly what we needed.
It gave us time to relax, soak everything in, and enjoy that newlywed bubble without rushing back to reality. We have since booked our honeymoon to Seychelles for August 2026, and we're incredibly excited. While it wasn't our original timeline, having that quiet week together in Puerto Rico immediately after the wedding was truly the perfect way to begin married life.

Tell us your love story! How did you meet and how did you get to a proposal?
Alex and I met on Hinge and hit it off right away. Over the next several years, we built a life together—traveling, celebrating friends’ weddings, spending time with family, and renovating our home.
Alex proposed on the beach at the Ritz-Carlton in Naples, Florida, where my parents live. He surprised me by having both of our parents there, along with my best friend Aly and her husband. Afterward, we celebrated at Lola 41 with Aperol Spritzes, great food, and so much excitement for what was ahead. It was simple, thoughtful, and very us.
When you started planning your wedding, what did you envision? How close did the actual wedding get to that vision?
We started planning our wedding in March of 2025. From the beginning, I had a very specific vision: Taylor Swift’s Lover era meets LoveShackFancy. I envisioned hydrangeas, a waterfront setting, a packed dance floor, and an elevated but personal feel.
It came together exactly how I imagined it. The color palette was light blue, pale pink, and green, with hydrangeas woven throughout. My bridesmaids wore V. Chapman Victorian Blue Roses dresses, which fit the aesthetic perfectly. Bringing that vision to life at Oyster Harbors Club made it even more special.
What were a few things that were important to you as a couple to include (or not include) in the wedding?
We were all about creating a great party. We wanted amazing food, strong drinks, and a dance floor that stayed full all night. Music was a huge priority, and our band absolutely crushed it. More than anything, we wanted the weekend to feel fun, relaxed, and full of energy.
How did you decide on the location?
Cape Cod was an easy choice because it has been such a big part of our relationship. Alex grew up spending summers there, and over the years I fell in love with it through trips together, time with his family, and memories with friends who took us on boat rides, trips to Martha’s Vineyard, and adventures around Falmouth. By the time we got engaged, it already felt like an important part of our story, and Oyster Harbors Club was the perfect place to celebrate.

I chose the Ines Di Santo Radius gown, which was actually the fifth dress I tried on at Chic Parisien. I always knew I wanted something fitted, detailed, fashion-forward, and timeless, and this dress checked every box. It featured a beautiful tulle finish with a soft blush undertone, structured boning, and floral appliqués that felt perfect for a Cape Cod wedding.
Shopping with my mom was such a special memory, and the team at Chic Parisien truly understood my vision. Once I put on the Radius gown, I knew it was the one.
How did your family, friends, etc. play into your wedding planning and wedding day?
They played a huge role. Every member of our family is so important to us, and they were incredibly involved throughout the entire process. They constantly checked in, shared in our excitement, and made the months leading up to the wedding feel so special—the anticipation and excitement leading up to it was truly the best feeling.
My mom was with me every step of the way and was such a source of support throughout the planning process. My wedding planner, Rachel Rincon of Blue Hydrangea Events, was instrumental in bringing my vision to life. My girlfriends were also incredibly involved and supportive throughout the entire process, and I was constantly texting them ideas and details. I especially have to call out my best friend Katelyn, who is an interior designer—she weighed in on countless design decisions, and her eye for aesthetics was invaluable.
Having our families and friends there to celebrate made the weekend feel even more meaningful.
What’s one specific memory you have from your wedding day that you don’t think you’ll ever forget?
Without a doubt, our ceremony. Our officiant, Mike Soderberg, gave a speech that perfectly captured our relationship, our personalities, and the journey that brought us to that moment. There wasn’t a dry eye in the crowd. He also spoke beautifully about Cape Cod and what it has meant to us throughout our relationship, which made the ceremony feel even more personal. Looking out at all of our family and friends while listening to his words is a moment I’ll never forget. It felt like the perfect reflection of not only our relationship, but also the place that played such a big role in our story.
How did you decide on your hair and makeup look?
I wanted to look like myself, just an elevated version. I wore my hair down in soft waves and chose glowy makeup that enhanced my features while still feeling natural. My goal was to feel polished and timeless while still looking completely like myself.
Was there one vendor you used that you wish everyone knew about?
I have to give a special shoutout to our photographer, Holly Felts. She traveled all the way from Oklahoma and is truly an incredible talent. Holly had photographed one of my close friends’ weddings in South Carolina, so she already knew many of us before our wedding weekend, which made having her there feel even more special.
Her work is phenomenal, and she has such a gift for capturing every moment and detail in a way that feels authentic and timeless. The coloring and tones in her photos captured Cape Cod so beautifully, and every image brings us right back to the feeling of the day. We couldn’t have imagined anyone better documenting our wedding.
That said, all of our vendors were absolutely amazing. Every single person brought so much talent, professionalism, and care to the weekend, and we feel incredibly lucky to have worked with such an exceptional team.
Where did you go on your honeymoon and what was the best part?
We’re heading to Italy for our honeymoon in August, splitting our time between the Italian Riviera, Florence, and the Amalfi Coast. We’re most excited to slow down, spend time together, enjoy incredible food and beautiful scenery, and celebrate the start of married life together. And of course, we can’t wait for plenty of Aperol Spritzes along the way.

Can you tell us how you describe the brand's vision and aesthetic?
The vision for Leah Da Gloria has always been about creating gowns that feel both timeless and fashion-forward, pieces that are deeply romantic but still powerful and modern. I’ve always been drawn to balancing softness with structure, so the brand aesthetic really lives in that contrast: femininity with confidence, couture craftsmanship with contemporary sensuality.
How did you decide that bridal was where your talents were best served?

I began in evening wear, and I think that experience naturally led me into bridal because so many of the foundations overlap. But what drew me to bridal specifically was the emotion behind it. There’s something really special about being part of such an important moment in someone’s life.
How did designing your own (three!) wedding dresses change how you design?
I actually spent very little time on my own pieces because I was so busy with work, which in a way made the process feel really carefree and instinctive.
On your wedding day, you want to feel beautiful, but you also want to feel like yourself and be able to fully enjoy every moment and that perspective definitely continues to influence how I design for our brides now.
What's your advice for brides going into their bridal appointments?
Trust the designer and their vision.
You’ve come to a designer or boutique for a reason, so allow yourself to be open to the process and the expertise behind it. Sometimes the gown you fall in love with ends up being completely different to what you imagined going in and that’s usually where the magic happens.
I also always encourage brides to focus less on trends or outside opinions and more on how the dress makes them feel.
The right gown should feel like an elevated version of yourself, not like you’re dressing as someone else for the day. And most importantly, enjoy the experience. Bridal appointments should feel exciting, emotional, and special - not stressful
How do you continue to find inspiration for the new collections? Are you going on gut instinct? Do you have a research process? Do you look at the Haute Couture and ready to wear collections? Tell us about your process for coming up with new designs.
I do try to trend forecast and research myself, but it typically comes from aesthetics I am enjoying at the time. Whether that’s house interiors, my personal style, art, travel, or even what my algorithm looks like, it tends to be a culmination of everything I’m visually consuming at that moment. I definitely pay attention to Haute Couture and ready-to-wear collections because I love seeing how fashion is evolving globally, but I never want to design from a place of simply following trends.
Your latest collection featured some really gorgeous contrasts — the Fable's chic eyelet pastoral vibe to the Celestia's silver opulence — what can you share about how you approach fabric?
Fabric is always where the story begins for us. I love contrast, balancing softness with structure, romance with drama. With Fable, we leaned into lighter, more tactile fabrics like eyelet and textured lace because we wanted that effortless, modern pastoral feeling. Celestia was the opposite energy - rich embellishment, luminous silver tones, fabrics that catch the light and feel almost regal.
When I’m selecting fabrics, I’m always thinking about emotion first: how does this make the bride feel when she walks, moves, and sees herself in it? A gown can be visually beautiful, but if the fabric doesn’t create that emotional response or movement, it’s missing something.
Is there a trend or new experiment on the horizon that you can share with us? Something we haven't seen everywhere yet but you are hoping to see brides wear down the aisle.
I think brides are becoming more confident in embracing individuality over tradition, and I love that shift. One thing I’m really excited about is more dimensional styling. Brides want versatility without losing impact. And honestly, I think we’re moving away from “perfectly polished” bridal into something more emotional and effortless.
Last thing, you're a hair goals queen. Is there a tip from your routine that has been a game changer you can share with the girls?
Lack of sleep, haha just joking! Probably less is more. I used to think I needed to do the most with my hair, but the biggest game changer has been focusing on keeping it healthy rather than constantly styling it. Also silk pillows… I swear they actually make a difference.

Tell us your love story. How did you meet, and how did you get to the proposal?
We met through mutual friends several years ago, and Raul Alfonso would always ask me out, but I kept turning him down. When I finally said yes to our first date, that’s when I realized he was the man God had prepared for me. We dated for two years and then got engaged.
When you started planning your wedding, what did you envision? How close did the actual wedding get to that vision?
The wedding absolutely exceeded all my expectations. Everything was so beautiful, and it was exactly what I had asked my planners for — or even better.
What were a few things that were important to you as a couple to include, or not include, in the wedding?
We wanted the wedding to be intimate, with close friends and family who we knew would truly be happy for us. We wanted it to feel like one big party where everyone was happy and enjoying every second.
How did you decide on the location?
It was easy. Raul, my husband, is a member of Santo Domingo Country Club, and because of the facilities, the great food, and the excellent service, we knew from the beginning that it would be there.

I had a clear idea of what I wanted, but as often happens, I ended up with something completely different. Originally, I wanted to buy an off-the-shoulder dress from the April 2026 collection. I kept saying that THAT was my dress. In the end, because of budget reasons and poor service at the store where they had it, I went to you, and Alana — who is truly a wonderful person — found me my wedding dress. I don’t regret that decision at all.
How did your family, friends, and loved ones play into your wedding planning and wedding day?
I planned my wedding myself. My mom gave me the budget, and then my planners and I put everything together.
What’s one specific memory from your wedding day that you don’t think you’ll ever forget?
Honestly, there were so many moments, but the first one that comes to mind is when we read our vows privately.
How did you decide on your hair and makeup look?
I trusted my stylists completely.

Runway Review: Ines Di Santo Spring Summer 2027 Photographed by Lauren Alatriste
We were thrilled to take our seats in the front row of the Ines Di Santo SS 2027 runway presentation in New York City last Bridal Fashion Week. There’s something especially magical about an Ines Di Santo presentation, whether it’s a traditional runway show or a creative presentation. This season, we got a bit of both. The lights were dim and the fog crept into the space and the models were styled with gorgeous and unexpected botanical touches, like Midsommar meets A Midsummer Night’s Dream with a bridal flare. The drama of the setting and backdrop with the romance of the gowns, never fails to take our breath away.
While a runway show always goes by too fast to really take it all in, we were lucky to have our friend, the talented bridal photographer Lauren Alatriste, along with us to capture the chicness and make still out of all the commotion. These gorgeous shots are the Ines Di Santo collection through her lens.

Tell us your love story! How did you meet and how did you get to a proposal?
Francisco and I had actually met once before, but life took us in different directions. Exactly one year later—on the very same date—our paths crossed again, and this time it felt as though destiny had quietly stepped in.
From the moment he saw me, he says he knew I was the one. That very night, he told his mom, “Mom, I saw her again today—the girl I’m going to marry.”
From there, everything unfolded naturally and effortlessly. As we began truly talking, our connection deepened with every conversation—easy, genuine, and undeniable. Our relationship blossomed quickly; Francisco never wavered in what he felt. From the beginning, he knew he wanted to marry me.
Our families connected just as seamlessly, and the proposal reflected everything we are—intimate, heartfelt, and meaningful. It took place at a breathtaking lookout point, surrounded by sweeping mountain views—a moment that felt both deeply personal and timeless.
When you started planning your wedding, what did you envision? How close did it come to that vision?
I envisioned a wedding that felt timeless yet magical—something that blended seamlessly with the charm of our venue, a garden nestled within a château. I wanted our guests to feel transported, as though they had stepped into another world far removed from the everyday.
One of my biggest inspirations was Alice in Wonderland, with its sense of whimsy and wonder woven into every detail. It was important to me that the décor felt in harmony with the venue’s natural beauty—the gardens, ponds, and architecture—rather than competing with it.
In the end, the day was everything I had imagined and more. From the enchanting setting to the thoughtful details layered throughout, it truly felt like stepping into the pages of a storybook I had always dreamed of.
What were a few things that were important for you as a couple to include (or not include)?
“More than anything, we wanted our wedding to feel full of warmth, love, and family. It wasn’t just about creating something beautiful, it was about creating something meaningful. Good music, incredible food, and shared experiences were essential. We didn’t want the night to feel overly formal, but rather like an unforgettable celebration where everyone could truly connect and enjoy.
It was also important for us to incorporate personal elements, from honoring my Greek heritage to weaving meaningful details into the décor. Every element; the lighting, the florals, the atmosphere, was intentional. We wanted it to feel like more than a wedding; we wanted it to be an experience.
How did you decide on the location?
We knew we wanted somewhere that felt both special and unforgettable—combining natural beauty with architectural elegance. It was also a mutual decision to get married in our home country, Guatemala, and we felt incredibly lucky to have a place like Antigua.
Villa Bokéh was exactly what we had envisioned—and more. The lush gardens, fountains, and château-style architecture create a setting that feels both refined and enchanting.
What makes it even more magical is its surroundings. With volcanoes and mountains framing the landscape, there’s an almost otherworldly quality to it. From the beginning, I knew that if we were getting married in Guatemala, it would have to be there.
Let’s talk about the dress!
My gown was everything I had ever dreamed of, timeless, romantic, and slightly otherworldly. I tried on nearly sixty dresses, but none compared to the one I ultimately chose.
Designed by Monique Lhuillier—whose work I’ve always admired—it struck the perfect balance between tradition and modernity. Crafted in delicate lace with soft pleating, it carried a sense of history and romance, while the silhouette felt light, fluid, and ethereal.
More than anything, it was important for me to feel like myself. It truly reflected my personality and everything I love. The gown moved with me in a way that felt alive, graceful and effortless. I kept my accessories minimal to let the craftsmanship and detail shine.
I had always imagined wearing something grand—you only have one moment in your life to embrace that kind of magic and feel like a true princess in white. This dress gave me that moment in the most beautiful way.
How did your family and friends play a role in the planning and the day?
My mother was truly the heart of it all, I could not have done it without her. Her guidance, dedication, and love carried me through every stage of the process. My mother-in-law was also incredibly supportive and played such an important role.
Beyond that, we were surrounded by so much love from both of our families and our friends. Their support, advice, and excitement made the entire journey even more meaningful.
On the wedding day, their energy brought everything to life. Having such a strong, loving circle around us made the experience not only possible, but unforgettable.
What’s one moment from your wedding day you’ll never forget?
One of the most unforgettable moments was our Greek family dance. On my dad’s side, my grandfather is Greek, and our family is incredibly close—this was our way of honoring that part of who we are.
We practiced for weeks, and even my husband, who had never done it before learned every step. On the day, the energy was incredible. The music, the rhythm, everyone dancing together, it felt like pure joy, and that moment captured everything we are as a family.
We turned it into an experience for our guests as well, complete with plate smashing and celebration. It wasn’t just a dance—it was a show. The entire room felt electric, and it’s a memory I will carry with me forever.
How did you decide on your hair and makeup?
I wanted something polished yet natural—timeless and true to who I am.
We chose a soft, elegant ponytail that framed my face beautifully, paired with glowing, romantic makeup in soft pink tones. Radiant skin, delicate eyes, and just the right amount of definition created a look that felt elevated yet effortless.
It complemented the dress without ever competing with it, which was important, because the dress was truly the star.
Was there a vendor you absolutely loved?
Absolutely—our entire photo and video team.
Our photographer captured not just images, but emotion. Every detail, every feeling, it all lives in the photos in such a beautiful, timeless way.
Our videographer created something truly cinematic. It wasn’t just a video, it was a film. His wife, who worked as our content creator, brought such creativity and energy, capturing candid moments that added another layer to the experience.
And of course, our wedding planner made everything possible. She was the visionary behind it all, bringing every detail together seamlessly and turning our dream into reality.
Where did you go on your honeymoon?
We traveled to Japan—a destination we had both always wanted to visit.
It was the perfect balance of vibrant cities, breathtaking landscapes, and unforgettable food, paired with moments of calm in temples and gardens. We’ve always loved Asia, and Japan was somewhere new for both of us—making it feel even more special.
But the best part was simply slowing down after the excitement of the wedding and enjoying our first days as newlyweds, just the two of us, experiencing something new together.

Tell us your love story! How did you meet and how did you get to a proposal?
Our love story is definitely a bit unconventional. My best friend went to summer camp in New York in 8th grade, where she met him. At the time, my friends and I thought it was fun to FaceTime our friends’ friends, so we would randomly call people from her camp, including him.
A few months later, he started texting me. I didn’t think much of it at first. I had never met him and was still in high school, but I figured, why not? That turned into us talking every single day for six years without ever meeting in person. We became best friends over the phone.
When I was in college and he had just graduated, we finally decided to meet. He flew to Miami, and everything felt exactly the same as it had over the phone. Shortly after, he asked me to be his girlfriend, and the rest is history.
We started talking about getting engaged after about a year of dating. Since we already knew each other so well, we felt ready to take the next step and finally end the long distance.
When you started planning your wedding what did you envision? How close did the actual wedding get to that vision?
When I started planning my wedding, I knew it had to be entirely blue, with white as the only other color. Blue is both of our favorite colors, so it felt like the perfect choice. At the same time, my dream had always been to get married on the beach. While that didn’t end up happening, the wedding we created was even more beautiful and dreamy than I could have imagined. I wouldn’t have changed a single thing.
What were a few things that were important to you as a couple to include (or not include) in the wedding?
Incorporating Jewish music was one of the most important elements for us. We wanted a traditional Jewish wedding with meaningful, high-energy music. My husband’s dad is very knowledgeable in this space and helped us secure an incredible Jewish band. Music overall was a huge priority for us; we really wanted people to feel the energy and have an amazing time. Between the band, the singer, and the DJ, the atmosphere was everything we hoped for.
How did you decide on the location?
As I mentioned, I originally dreamed of a beach wedding, which led us to explore destination options and beach venues in Florida. Since many of my preferred vendors were based in Florida, it made the most sense to host the wedding there, even though he’s from New York. Ultimately, we decided on an indoor venue due to Florida’s unpredictable weather. After touring several locations, we chose Aventura Turnberry Jewish Center. Their in-house kosher caterer, Jeremy, was incredibly easy to work with and extremely knowledgeable. The spacious ballroom also sealed the deal, since we knew we wanted a large wedding.

My wedding dress actually played a big role in choosing our wedding date. I had told my husband how important it was for me to have enough time to find the perfect dress, so I wanted at least eight months after getting engaged.
I had been saving inspiration photos long before I got engaged, so I had a general idea of what I wanted—lace (but not too much), embroidered flowers, a long train, and something with a bit of shine.
I expected dress shopping to be stressful and time-consuming, but Chic Parisien made it effortless. It was the first and only store I visited. The moment I walked in, one dress immediately caught my eye; it was hanging right near the entrance and had everything I had envisioned. Although I tried on a few others just to be sure, I knew instantly that this was the one. I later learned it had just arrived from Reem Acra, which made it feel even more special. I had always been drawn to Lebanese designers, so it felt meant to be.
When I tried it on, the reactions from my mom, grandma, and sister said everything. I felt confident, like the best version of myself, and completely like a bride. Saying yes to the dress was easy; it was everything I had dreamed of.
How did your family, friends, etc play into your wedding planning and wedding day?
I was very fortunate to have so much support from my family and friends throughout the planning process and on the wedding day itself. My mom’s friends were incredibly helpful with pre-wedding events and vendor recommendations. My family played a huge role in helping me choose my dress and ensuring everything ran smoothly so I could stay stress-free. Even though his family lives in New York, they flew in multiple times to support us along the way.
What's one specific memory you have from your wedding day that you don't think you'll ever forget.
There are so many unforgettable moments, from our first look to him tearing up as I walked down the aisle. But one of the most meaningful moments was getting ready with my mom and sister; putting on my dress and sitting together in the bridal suite as I prayed before the ceremony. Having them there, especially my mom, meant everything to me. I am eternally grateful for both of them.
How did you decide on your hair and makeup look?
I knew I needed an updo because of the energy of a traditional Jewish wedding. I wanted something that would stay in place all night and keep my hair out of my face. A sleek bun with a diamond headpiece felt timeless and perfect. For makeup, I wanted to look like an elevated version of myself, with a strong bronzed blush that I always feel confident in. Mariangeles Novoa (@marinovoahair) and Elizabeth Maya (@lizmaya_makeupart) made me feel absolutely beautiful; I couldn’t have done it without them!!
Was there one vendor you used that you wish everyone knew about?
All of our vendors were incredible, but I especially want to highlight our singer, Adam Lahav. Even while he and his family were going through incredibly difficult times during the war, he made every effort to be at our wedding. My mom had met him months earlier (before I was engaged), and even then he told us he would be there. Just two weeks before the wedding, during the height of everything happening in Israel, he reached out to reassure us he would find a way to come; and he did. His performance was unforgettable, and he brought such a powerful, emotional energy to our wedding. It truly felt like we were in Israel.
Where did you go on your honeymoon and what was the best part?
We’re planning to go on our honeymoon next year and are hoping to go to Africa. I’m especially excited for the safaris and the chance to experience a completely new culture.

Tell us your love story! How did you meet and how did you get to a proposal?
John and I met while attending SCAD in Savannah GA and were immediately inseparable. We met through a mutual friend bringing him along to what was going to be a "girls night" dinner, and quickly began making plans to spend time together. We spent the balance of our college years side by side studying art together ( and fashion merchandising for me, Graphic design for him) and moved to Florida with our fur baby after graduation. Our favorite staycation is highland beach in boca raton, and this is where he planned a surprise proposal to me. He secretly flew some of our friends and family in and they lined the walk to the beach, each handing me a red rose with John at the end. We had been together for 7 years prior to the proposal so it was time!
When you started planning your wedding what did you envision? How close did the actual wedding get to that vision?
Luckily, we were always very consistent with what we were envisioning the day to look like in regards to design and detail/theme. My goal was to have a timeless wedding, almost entirely void of current trends. I was inspired by royal weddings (as a major Princess Diana Fan) and wanted to capture a timeless, elegant essence. I wanted to blend this with elements unique to John and I, and wanted to marry in a historic and european looking venue. Most of our family was unable to travel out of the country and we wanted to emulate an Italian wedding with no passports required. The wedding was everything we had envisioned and more and we are grateful for all of our vendors that helped make it happen. I wanted to ensure the color palette consisted of black/white/cream given the vivid pink backdrop of the Ringling Museum.
What were a few things that were important to you as a couple to include (or not include) in the wedding?
It was important to us to ensure although we wanted a timeless wedding, we wanted it to feel unique to us with special touches that represent our love and story. I work in fashion, fashion is my life and I also wanted to ensure we captured that in the details and of course THE DRESS
How did you decide on the location?
We wanted to plan a big Italian wedding, with a theme of renaissance revival. I wanted to capture our love for art and history with classic details, in a truly unique setting. We looked at several locations throughout the country, however as soon as we stepped foot in the Ringling Museum Courtyard we knew it was the one. As we toured the art museum for the first time we immediately recognized many works of art that we had studied together in art history classes in college and knew that this was the place that would be the backdrop of our perfect day.

Shopping for the dress was my lifes work coming to fruition. I ended up trying on around 65 dresses in total, and none were quite right until i found myself in Chic Parisian in Josephine by Leah Da Gloria. I knew I wanted a ball gown, with no beading/sprakle and wanted the shape and the fabric to do the talking. Kendall, had done such a great job pulling several stunning options for me, and I knew when I put Josephine on it was the one. I loved everything about the shape, the beautiful jacquard fabric and the regal train. The only detail that i was not in love with was the neckline- and Kendall worked her magic with the Leah team and they agreed to create the gown for me with a custom sweetheart neckline. In my professional life as a fashion buyer, we always laugh and say never commit to an order before you see it, and I could not believe here i was ordering my wedding dress without seeing what the neckline would truly look like on the dress. Nonetheless, Kendall assured me it would be beautiful and it was absolutely perfect. It was so perfect, that I did not want to take it off the night of the wedding and did not change into my reception dress.
On a side note- I had followed Kendall on instagram for years and always loved her style and wedding gown videos. It was such a full circle moment when she ended up being my bridal stylist and I knew when I saw her that we would end up finding my gown!
How did your family, friends, etc play into your wedding planning and wedding day?
John and I have family in colorado and new york. so outside of wedding dress shopping we did most of our wedding planning by ourselves and kept everyone involved via phone calls/texts. As for the day itself we were so lucky to have them involved in all of the traditional elements of the day.
What's one specific memory you have from your wedding day that you don't think you'll ever forget.
There are so many memories that i will cherish forever, including my first look with John. However another special memory was was putting on the dress with the help of my Mom and my maid of honor. The morning was very busy with everyone getting ready and quickly turned into a full blown photoshoot with our wonderful photography team, video team and content creators. Then as it grew near to put on the dress, the noise quieted, Frank sinatra hummed in the background and most of the group left the room for me to put on the dress. It was so special and was something I will always cherish getting to share with my mom and maid of honor.It was the final moment of peace before the events of the day began
How did you decide on your hair and makeup look?
I always thought an up do would look best with the dress, and found Jany, a master of her craft on instagram and the look was everything I had hoped for. I am the ultimate girly girl and wanted to look as glam as possible, so I found a glam expert for my makeup (Ashley Robinson for Give Me Glam) and the marriage of the two was perfect.
Was there one vendor you used that you wish everyone knew about?
I think everyone should know about all of my vendors, but in particular Abner Reyes had an incredible impact on our day and the year leading up to it. Not only was Abner our photographer, he was so much more than that. He partnered with me on creative direction and was on our journey with us every step of the way. We will continue to work with him as other photography needs arise. Gamutcine was our videoographer and the content we recieved was above and beyond our expectations! We felt like family by the end of the wedding as we had spent so much time together and they were with us in all of our most special moments
Where did you go on your honeymoon and what was the best part?
because our wedding was in November right before the holidays, we are taking our honeymoon to italy this upcoming June!! We are looking forward to eating good food, looking at art/architecture and of course SHOPPING!

Tell us your love story! How did you meet and how did you get to a proposal?
We met/dated back in high school but went out separate ways in college. After 3 years, as I was finishing up school in Alabama, I came back home for summer and ran into Lane. Our relationship rekindled and we eventually started dating again. At that point and time, we knew marriage was our next step.
When you started planning your wedding what did you envision? How close did the actual wedding get to that vision?
I envisioned a southern wedding. Southern charm to better explain it. Being from the south, and I wanted something that held a lot of beauty, but also resembled who we are. That actual wedding surpassed all of my dreams and expectations.
What were a few things that were important to you as a couple to include (or not include) in the wedding?
It was very important to both Lane and I to have a cross at the ceremony to get married in front of, and it was so beautiful. We also really wanted the venue to have good food, and it most definitely did.
How did you decide on the location?
It was super random, we just found it on safari and fell in love with it. Plus Charleston, SC is such a neat town that holds a lot of history. We wanted a destination wedding, but something not too far for our guests.

I had no clue what I wanted in a dress when I went dress shopping. And I could have never envisioned my dream dress to be the one I picked, but WOW was it a statement. And then you threw the veil on there, and it was truly amazing and purely unique.
How did your family, friends, etc play into your wedding planning and wedding day?
Everyone played a huge role, they contributed in all sorts of ways ensuring the day went smoothly and was perfect. And we had a large guests count, all whom were also close friends. They admired every little detail of the wedding, which as a bride, is like the best thing ever. And they had so much fun!
What's one specific memory you have from your wedding day that you don't think you'll ever forget.
I won’t ever forget walking down the aisle. The tunnel vision and the feeling of Gods presence was so surreal.
How did you decide on your hair and makeup look?
I knew I wanted glam but didn’t want to go over board. I also was set on having my hair down, and last minute did it up, which I think was such a game changer. The up do was beautiful, plus it lasted all day and allowed for the dress to be its own moment without interruption.
Was there one vendor you used that you wish everyone knew about?
My vendor team was a dream team. I could go on and on about each one of them. I couldn’t have just picked one as they were all so amazing.
Where did you go on your honeymoon and what was the best part?
We are currently on a 7 day cruise! The best part of traveling to all the different locations/islands.
